A 5.79 TB Government Archive - Passwords, IBANs and Personnel Files - Is Up for Auction at 30 BTC

Written by tortue974 - August 28, 2026

A 5.79 TB archive reportedly contains 1.44M files, including government records, personnel data, plaintext passwords and sensitive infrastructure data.

The leak reportedly exposes 16K+ emails, 11K+ phone numbers and 148 IBANs. The data is now being auctioned with a starting price of 30 BTC.

Every credential in that archive will be replayed somewhere, against logins that had nothing to do with the breach. It is part of why Vulpine insists on as little personal data as possible: an account is a token shown once and stored only as a hash, there is no email chain to intercept and no wire-transfer workflow to impersonate - which is precisely the surface schemes like this one monetize.
