Capcom is a Japanese video game company. On October 22, 2026, the company announced a big security problem because hackers got access to its CAPCOM ID service. This service allows customers to connect to Capcom websites and games.

The hackers got information from 11,774,247 customer records around the world. For example, they accessed email addresses, IP addresses and account information. In addition, 43 records also contained personal information such as dates of birth, gender and nicknames. The hackers also changed the passwords of 196 accounts, but Capcom quickly reset them. Fortunately, no credit card information was stolen.

Capcom found the problem on October 19, 2026, and contacted the police and other authorities. The company is now informing its customers about the situation. It also warns them about fake emails because hackers may use the stolen information to send dangerous messages. For this reason, customers should not click on strange links or open unknown files.

Today, Capcom games and online services are still available. However, the company is working to improve its security and protect customer information. This event shows that personal information is not always safe online and that companies must protect their customers.
